Our Journey from Startup to Success
Three years ago, NNW was just an idea. It was a bold vision by three Solutions Architects who knew that tech hiring could be done better. Today, we’ve built a business that’s growing and gaining quite the reputation, with companies now calling us “the pink tech recruiters.” It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re just getting started.

But let’s be real, getting here hasn’t been easy. Startups are notoriously tough, and we’ve faced our fair share of challenges. The first two years were financially difficult, but year three was a turning point. We made a big leap forward, secured more clients, placed even more top-tier talent, and became a known name amongst our competitors. Now, as we celebrate our third birthday, we’re also in the running for Hackernoon’s Startup of the Year 2024, which is a nomination that proves the tech community has taken notice of what we’re doing.
What It’s Like to Build a Startup
Running a startup comes with major highs and lows. There’s the freedom to build something from the ground up, the thrill of watching your business take shape, and the reward of making a real impact. But there’s also uncertainty, financial pressure, and the challenge of proving yourself in a crowded market.
For us, finding clients was the hardest part. Recruitment is a relationship-driven business, and breaking into the industry required a lot of patience and persistence. But the quality of our work spoke for itself. Because our founders come from technical backgrounds, we understand the industry inside and out. We know what great talent looks like, and we only send candidates who are technically strong and the right fit for our clients. That’s why the businesses we work with trust us — they know we’ll deliver the best.
The Highs & Lows of Tech Recruitment
The biggest high? Seeing the impact we have on people’s careers. There’s nothing better than placing a candidate in a role that changes their life, where they can grow, thrive, and truly love what they do. At the end of the day, we’re not just filling roles, we’re matchmakers, creating happiness in the workplace.
But recruitment isn’t always smooth sailing. One of the toughest lessons we learned was dealing with last-minute candidate dropouts. There were moments when a candidate accepted an offer, went through the entire process, and then backed out just before starting. It’s frustrating, but it’s part of the business, and we’ve had to learn to take it in stride.
